Abstract: This paper devotes to the expert system of the security and durability assessment of stayed cable bridges applying with Fuzzy Neural Networks (FNN). The system can process variables of both numerical style and semantic style. This system can make an assessment to the general and individual parts of cable bridges based on the data collected by testing the bridge, acquire the bridge's working phase information, evaluate the extent of its degrade and damage. It is realistic and significant to the modern management of large-scale bridges. This paper elucidates the basic principle and the realizing method of the assessment expert system. While introducing the system structure and its model's function, the paper shows some of functions of the assessment expert system illustrated by the experiment on the stayed cable bridge.
Keywords: bridge safety, expert system, fuzzy neural networks, assessment system of bridge.
