
Shape Control of Beam Containing Piezoelectric Patches

Abstract: Applying Heaviside function, the equations governing the
beam that possessing spatially distributed piezoelectric patches have been established.
Based on these equations, some problems about the shape control have been discussed. Using
the collocation point method combined with genetic algorithm, the optimal locations and
scales of these piezoelectric patches have been selected. Numerical examples of beam have
been presented to illustrate the simplicity and efficacy of the algorithm.
