The Primarily Researched Fractal Fracture Theory of Microvoids

Abstract: Fractal fracture theory of microvoids is presented and primarily researched in this paper. The fractal model for the coalesence between the main crack and microvoids is presented. Then, we find the relationship of the fractal demension D and the thickness of linking area ¡÷ and the average radius of microvoids r, and the energy criterion of void to merge with main crack is derivated. At last, we argued about the relationship between the fractal demention and the fracture toughness.
