Abstract: Ultrasound elasticity imaging is a
promising method that may eventually allow early detection of many tissue pathologies. The
quasi-periodic regularly structure of tissue peaks in the power cepstrum of ultrasonic
backscatter. A method to estimate tissue strain based on mean scatter spacing, and
distribution of Young's modulus of the soft tissue with external stress is addressed whose
axis resoluti on is 2.5 mm and latteral resolution is 1.5 mm. Some aspects which should be
considered in elasticity measurement of soft tissue are discussed.
Keywords: Young's modulus, mean scatter spacing,
ultrasound elasticity imaging.
