Abstract: Employing the substructure method of the MFEP V4.0 software whose calculating ability is equivalent to that of the ADINA software, this paper established a three-dimensional FEA model of a test tower. The tower is the highest in the world in some kind of prestressed reinforcenodes exceeding in number 8000. The model consists of a lot of shell elements and some beam elements. It precisely discribes the geometrical shape of the tower. Almost all of the door openings, the window openings in the external shear walls and prestressed walls, and the strains of every floors in the tower are considered. This paper fulfills the st atic stress analysis of the tower under the wind loads, prestressed loads and weight load of the tower. Finally, the paper considers that it is beneficial to apply time-displecement curves in the relative earthquake specification.
Keywords: tall building, three-dimentional FEA calculation model in which floors strains are considered, substructure method.
