£Ábstract: This paper presents a universal method for the inverse eigenvalue problem in the dynamic design of a structure with specified low-order natural frequencies. This is based on the optimum solution of nonlinear least squares solution by trust region methods. The solvability of the problem is studied. A truss problem is discussed to illustrate the mehod.
