Abstract: A refined one-order shear deformation theory, which is used to analysing dynamic problems of composite sandwich shells, is presented. By means of finite element analysis,
the dynamic equations of sandwich shells vibration are obtained. The method for forming
damping matrix is given. A comparison between numerical computational values and experimental data show that the precision of computes is fairly good. Finally, the curves are given, in which the effect of vibration reducing varies with the shear modulus G ¡¢ damping loss factors ¦Â and core thickness hc. The curves can regard as a reference for optimization design.
Keywords: composite sandwich shell, shear deformation, dynamic characteristic, damping, vibration reducing.
