Abstract: Accurate
shape estimation is a key to shape control of intelligent structures. In this paper, the
shape estimator and controller of intelligent truss structures are developed by using
Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), through which the current deformed state of the
structures can be inferred and regulated from a limite d number of on-line measurements and
actuations. And such a model may be used to deal with nonlinear problems of the structures
as well. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the validation and effectiveness of
the method.
