Abstract: The article puts forward a new method-differential/finite difference method (DDM) for calculating unsteady state heat conduction. The derivation process and analysis are presented. DDM can achieve good accuracy of calculation and is beyond the limitation of step calculation. The result from it similar to theoretical solution is composed of two parts, representing steady state and transient respec tively. The compound then is a function of temperature for each node. It is indi cated that the character values of matrix correspond right to the character valu es of the practical system. So DDM is a more suitable numerical method.
Keywords: hybrid differential/finite difference method, unsteady state, heat conduction.
