Abstract: The analysis of flow field in centrifugal fan passage composed by the parts of inlet-impeller- vanless-volute is very complicated. The flow in each part is effected by oth-ers, but it can be computed individually at present. A numerical an alysis of a meridian flow field caused by the inlet-impeller-vanless diffuser is carried out by using axisymmetric Nav-ier-Stokes(N-S) equations, in which the effect of blade force is considered and given by a numerical analysis of 3-D flow field in impeller passge. The results obtained are used as the inlet conditions for 3-D numerical computation in impeller passage. They are also used to opt imize the design of the profile of fan inlet and the shapes of the shroud and rear disk of the impeller. The method presented in the paper has been practically examined.
