Abstract: In this paper, some fundamental problems in the vibration
control of flexible structures using piezoelectric ceramics are studied. The matching
relationship between piezoelectric actuators and structural matrix is analyzed. The
optimal arrangement of collocated modal sensor/actuator in a flexible cantilever plate is
discussed. The feasiblity is verified by experiments.
