Abstract: Impact tensile experiments of glass-cloth/epoxy laminates under different tempe ratures are carried out. The curves of stressª²strain have been measured. The Young's modulus, tensile strength and Poisson's ratio of the laminates have beenobtained. The experiment results show that the dynamic response of the laminates is clearly dependent upon temperatures and strain rates and there exists dynamic toughness in the laminates. A design method of tensile sample of composite laminates has been reported.
Keywords: composites, strain rate effect, temperature effect, dynamic toughnes, tensile sample design.
