A New Method for Computing the Coefficient of Blockage and Work¡¡Lost in Multistage Axial-flow Compressors

Abstract: The effect of blockage and work-lost caused by end-wall boundary layer in axial-flow compressors is discussed in this paper, and a new method for computing the blockage and the work-lost coefficient suitable for engineering design and analysis of axial compressors is proposed. The off-design performance analysis of two multistage axial-flow compressors agrees well with the experimental results.
