The Surface Crack Prediction During the Rod-rod Combined Extrusion

Abstract: In this paper, the rigid-plastic finite element method is used to simulate the rod-rod axisymmetric combined extrusion. Furthermore, on the basis of the stress and strain fields of the deformation part, the traced point technology and theductile fracture criteria are adopted to predict the crack defects appearing on the experimental ones. The study can give some advice to technicians in process design and tool design.
