Abstract: A wavenumber equation of pressure wave was derived for adiabatic gas-liquid two-phase flow by linearizing the conservation equations of two-fluid model. The propagation speeds of pressure waves with various frequencies were solved from the wavenumber equation for different void fractions. The effects of drag force and virtual mass force on propagation and dispersion of pressure wave were investigated. The wave speeds calculated for bubbly flow and slug flow are compared well with data measured by former authers.
Keywords: gas-liquid two-phase flow, pressure wave, propagation speed, dispersion.
