Abstract: Sonoelasticity estimation and imaging are probably becoming new diagnostic techniques for visualizing abnormal region in soft tissures. In the paper, a low frequency vibration is externally applied to induce internal vibration in the tissue under doppler inspection. Homogeneity and inhomogeneity phantoms are sonoelasticity estimated and imaged. The theory of wave equation of tissue vibration amplitude, velocity and modulation index B are developed. Preliminary experimentsresults indicate that soft tissue vibration equation is a good correspondence to the sonoelasticity imaging, sonoelasticity imaging can differentiate regions of change in elastic modulus that B ultrasound can't obtain. These studies provide good applied future for detecting small abnormal tissures that sonoresistance and sonoscatter characterizations are not obviously different.
