Determination of the Upper Bound Load in 3-D Analysis with the RBJE Method

Abstract: The rigid blockª²joint element (RBJE) method is a numerical method to study a deformation and a movement of a rigid block system, and it may be used to study a limit equalization problem of the elastic-plastic body. With a general program of the 3-D RBJE, this paper calculated the upper bound of the square base limit  load on the center of the top surface of the square pillar. The result illustrates the RBJE method has a good precision and a wide suitability.
