Abstract: An alternative approach to
investigate the wind-induced interference on buildings
was presented via measuring and integrating instantaneous wind pres sures distributed on
the rigid model surface in wind tunnel. The instantaneous wind pressures on the model
surface were obtained from the synchronous multi-channel
pressure measurements, the pressure taps were arranged as the nodes of Gauss numerical
integration to improve accuracy. A rigid model of a high-rise
buil ding with pressure taps distributed on the surface and three interference-build ing models with different heights were designed, the along-wind and across-wind interferences
between two high-rise buildings with identical height
and diff erent heights were investigated. The effects of the arrangement, spacing and
height of the adjacent building on the dynamic base overturning moment of the inter fered
building were discussed in terms of the interference factor, and compared with the results
from the traditional approaches.
