
Method for Dynamic Eigenvalues Interval
Analysis of Uncertain Structures

Abstract: The uncertain parameters of a
structure are described with interval numbers, a generalized eigenvalue interval equation
is discussed, and interval stepped dividing method is presented, where the independent
uncertain parameters are endowed with the values of a divided interval, and the solution
of an uncerta in generalized eigenvalue equation is transformed into the corresponding
certain one. The eigenvalue bounds of each order are determined by searching for the ma
ximum and minimum in the solutions. Some mathematical examples and the further engineering
applications confirm the validity and efficiency of this approach.
