Abstract: The usual dynamic models for analysis of vehicle comfort and road hol ding capability are with 2/4/7 degrees of freedom, which may resuet in errors in designing active or semi-active suspensions. To improve the effectiveness and accuracy of vehicle vibration control, so called multi-degree of freedom (7+k) dynamic model is introduced, where both driver and passengers are taken into acc ount. The corresponding dynamic equation is presented, the comparisons are made arnong all the models for the dynamic performances. A numeric simulation response of different models under a half-sinusoid road excitation verifies the validity and efficiency of (7+k) model.
