Abstract: Damage in concrete medium leads to a variation of elasticity and viscosity. Damage theory with double parameters is presented to describe the damage. The damaged concrete medium is divided into several domains in different degrees, and the governing equations are formulated and solved imposing the continu ous conditions and boundary conditions. It is revealed that the viscosity effects on the relationship of the amplitudes and wave propagation time with the damage are necessary to consider in the damaged medium. The effects of local damage size and the damaged degree on the wave propagation are analyzed in the viscoel astic concrete medium, and the corresponding curves are plotted to provide a criterion for the inverse analysis.
Keywords: viscoelastic concrete, damage theory with double parameters, wave propagation.
