Abstract: Finite element simulation serves as a
key role in dealing with complex structural problems. The uncertainties existing in
structures, test data and computational models£¬usually
impede to verify and update a FE model, and to obtain a validate model with prediction
confidence. A framework of FE model validat ion is proposed here to attempt to illustrate
the essential ideas and feasibility of the model validation.
Keywords: finite element method, model validation, model updating,
uncertai nty quantification, principle component decomposition.
