Abstract: A laminar structure combined by solid film, liquid layer and rigid sub strate from top to bottom was investigated. Generally, the interfaces between liquid film and rigid substrate appear as nonplanar due to the folding or roughness, furthermore, the free energy and stability of the system are remarkably distu rbed. The free energy is solved with the aid of introducing a perturbation function, and the result shows that the free energy and the formed sinusoidal waves vary obviosly when the stability is strongly influenced by the nonplanar liquid layer/substrate interface.
Keywords: nonplanar interface, thin film, stability.
