
Analytical Solutions for
Laminated Composite Plate with Free Edges

Abstract: Based on 3D fundamental equations of
elasticity and by assuming boundary displacement functions associated with free edges, the
state equation for orthotropic laminated plate is established and a analytical solution
for rectan gular plate with two opposite free edges and two opposite simply supported
edges is presented. The given solution satisfies all fundamental equations of elasticity
and continuity conditions between the laminates. The presented method can be used to treat
free edges of laminates flexibly. The examples show a higher accuracy of this solution.
