Abstract: The principle of the reproducing kernel particle method and the applic ation to slightly compressible rigid-plastic material are presented. The penalty function is adopted to impose the essential boundary condition, the tensor product weight function with a rectangular influence domain is chosen, and the fin ite element background cell is considered as the integration unit. The validity of RKPM is verified by comparing the result of plate rolling deduced from the rigid-plastic model and the experimental data.
Keywords: reproducing kernel particle method, rigid-plastic materials, penalty function, tensor product weight function, plate rolling.
