A Parallel Direct Block Algorithm for Large-Scale BEM Equation System

Abstract: A parallel direct block algorithm is developed for large-scale BEM equation system. The algorithm is based on the principle of block Gauss-Jordan elimination method. In order to solve the problem of the shortage of core storage, the technique of out-of-core is used. The node-super-row wrap storage is used for loading balance. To implement the method of parallel block elimination under the wrap storage, the method of parallel ring-wise cycle step-by-step modification is presented. Therefore, the scale of problem solved is enlarged and t he speed of computation is accelerated. The results of examples show that the algorithm has higher parallel speed-up ratio and parallel efficiency. So it is suitable for large-scale BEM problem.
