Abstract: The compressible gas solid two phase flow is investigated in a shock tube. The shock attenuation caused by solid particles is measured. The shock in teraction with the particles is visualized using the schlieren photography. Different structures of particles are tested. It is found that the non linear aerodynamics is a key factor.
