Abstract: This paper is concerned with sliding mode control with compensator for
tall building. The incorporation of a compensator provides (i) a convenient way
of making trade-offs between control efforts and specific response, and (ii) a convenient design procedure for static output feedback controllers
to facilitate practical implementations of control systems. The approach law method in the variable structure system is employed to design controller. The simulation results demonstrate that the method in the paper is a viable and attractive control strategy for applications to seismically excited tall building.
