
Nonlinear Dynamic Stability and Bifurcation of a Flexible
Support-Sliding Bearing-Rotor System

Abstract: In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic stability and bifurcation characteristics of a nonlinear rotor system with flexible supports and sliding bearings are investigated. The mechanical model of a flexible
support-sliding bearing-rotor system is suggested. According to the shooting method and nonlinear oil film force, the period solutions of the rotor system are calculated.
Then using Floquet Theory, we determine its stability. Combining Ruge-Kutta algorithm with Poincare mapping method, the orbits of bearing and rotor center are
given, then its bifurcation behaviors are discussed.
