Abstract: The shell affects the intensity of blasting shock wave greatly. A new
quantitative analysis method for the shell affecting the intensity of blasting shock wave has been put forward in the paper. The method can be used to compute the fragment velocity of shell and to analyze the influence of blast shock wave intension of shell. That the influence of shell on blast shock wave intensity lies
on the local shell mass or local shell thickness at which the fragments will be produced, not the full mass of shell has been pointed out in the paper. This point reflects the fact, and it is also the characteristic of the paper. The damage experiments of simulation objects for blast shock wave in two cases of explosive charges, which have the same mass and shape, are done to examine the reliability of analysis in this paper. The analysis and the experiment results are identical. The upper limit and lower limit of the max velocity for the fragment of bomb have given out in the paper. The fragment velocity depends on local thickness of shell, the thicker or the heavier is the local shell, and the
bigger the influence of shell on shock wave intensity is.
