Application of The Force Method in Cable-Truss Structures

Abstract: The cable-truss structure is a new type of spatial hybrid structure which is put forward and used firstly in China. When transverse rib-stiffening components, such as beams and trusses, which are disposed parallel on single curvature suspended cableroorfs, are moved down and then fixed, the pre-stress between trusses and cables is formed. This pre-stress can greatly improve the shape stability and rigidity of cable-truss structures. Based on the force method, a new algorithm is presented and the Newton-Raphson Method (N-R) is applied to the calculation of the cable-truss structures. The method proposed here is precise compared to other methods and can be used in practical engineering.
