Abstract: A generalized theoretical model for vibrating machines supported on non-rigid foundation by multiple anti-vibration mounts and a flexible floating raft is proposed. The corresponding structural analysis method is developed, and the dynamic transmission equations are derived to predict the power flow characteristics in subsystems. Numerical calculations of power flow for practical floating raft isolation system are carried out to explore the effects of mounting frequency on the flexibility of supporting structure and the transmitted power. It is shown that designing the mount frequency lower than the first mode of supporting structure can effectively reduce the vibration power transmitted into the foundation.
