Static Shape Control of Smart Beam

Abstract: Based on displacement field, the finite element model of a smart beam is built up on Hamilton's principle. Subsequently, sensitivity analysis method is adopted to determine and optimize electric potential. Based on theses achievements, an adaptive model is set up. Finally, the numerical applications are used to validate the developed finite element models. As shown in the simple examples, the static shape control scheme of smart beam presented is reasonable.
