Prediction of Effective Material Parameters of Superconducting Magnet by Finite Element Method

Abstract: The superconducting toroidal field (TF) magnet system is one of the important components of the HT-7U tokamak device. TF coil structure is rather complex, which is of the periodic micro-structures. Finite element (FE) analysis of effective mechanical and thermal characteristics of micro heterogeneous superconducting toroidal field coils is conducted in this paper. Some results are necessary to analyses and calculate the stress and deformation and the thermal behavior of the TF coil in HT-7U tokamak device.
