Abstract: The modal experiment on the flexible space truss with the hexahedral
structure is performed and investigated under the impulse excitation of haif sin
wave by the method of interior force vibration activation. The first 4 order natural frequencies and modals of the system are obtained and compared with the theoretical results. The results of the experiment and theoretical computations are
well fitted. This comparison shows that the dynamic mathematical model of space
flexible multi-body truss is right. The experiment indicates that the natural
frequency of the truss examined in this paper can be triggered by the method of
interior force vibration activating. The vibration parameters obtained by the experiment provides the basis for the further research on the vibration active control of the space flexible truss.
