
Unified Plastic Limit Analysis of Simply
Supported Circular Plates With
Strength Differential Effect in Tension and Compression

Abstract: A unified solution of plastic limit loads of simply supported circular plates under edge uniformly distributed load is presented. The in
fluences of the coefficient b and tension-compression ratio ¦Á on the plastic
limit loads are investigated. The obtained results are suitable for a wide range
of materials with SD effect and the intermediate stress effect. A series of new
results are also obtained in this paper that is greater than the results of Tresca and
Mohr-Coulomb theory, so the potential strength of materials can be fully
applied in the relevant engineering structures.
