Experiment Research on Effects of End Curved of Inlet Guide Vane to Surge Margin and Performance of Axial Compressor

Abstract: Experiments have been performed to study aerodynamic performance of variable-geometry inlet guide vane (IGV) and characteristic of sing le stage axial-flow compressor. The total and elemental performance of single a xial-flow compressor on the condition of variable-geometry IGV was analyzed. Some valuable conclusions were drawn. The results show that IGV may enlarge the f low range effectively, but may also decrease the pressure. The end curved of IGV is also an effect measure to delay unsteady flow.
