Abstract: Reservoir deposition occurred over long geologic periods of time. For simplicity of analysis, reservoirs are usually assumed homogeneous, but most reservoirs are heterogeneous in nature. Some common forms of heterogeneity are presence of layers and presence of different zones of fluids and rocks in the formation. Simulation program is developed by finite-difference method for two kinds of multilayer gas reservoir: One is that all layers are perforated, and the other is only partial layers are perforated. This numerical solution has been validated by comparing the results with those of some well-known simple models in the well testing literatures. The feature of well-bore pressure and interpretation method using well-bore pressure is clarified by analyzing the result of numerical simulation.
Keywords: Multilayer gas reservoir, semi permeable wall model, numerical simulation, and transient well test.
