
Elastic Wave Localization in Oneª²dimensional Periodic Wave-guides

Abstract: In this paper, based on the method of wave transfer matrix, elastic wave localization in periodic
wave-guide is studied. According to reciprocity and conservation of energy, a general formulation of wave transfer matrix is presented. Two kinds of methods for solving localization factor are give
n. As examples, localization factors of ordered and disordered periodic wave-guides are respectively calculated and discussed. The method and results in this paper for solving the problem of wave and vibration mode localization in periodic
wave-guide can be used in the optimum design of such kind of structure.
