Singularity Stress Analysis near the Tip of V Notch in Homogeneous Materials

Abstract:For singular stress field exits near the tip of V notch in a homogencous material, corresponding to various boundary conditions, Williams has discussed it in 1952. Focusing on the third boundary condition (one side is free, the other is constrained), the paper found that there are not only power singularity exponent, but also oseillation singularity one, which depends on notch angle and Poisson ratio.
